"The shortest distance between a human being and Truth
is a story." --

This year in the U.S., there have been articles in The
Wall Street
Journal, The Harvard Business Journal and the MIT Journal
of Management Studies that all speak of the need for good
storytelling in the business world. All these articles clearly
state that the key to success in any company is firmly based
on the stories that are told within that organizational
culture. And these articles all showed that there is only
one link that unites all the great leaders throughout history
-- they were all good storytellers. They all understood
the fundamentals of story, used these fundamentals to communicate
their vision and became inspiring and compelling leaders
as a result.
To achieve this deeper level of understanding of communication
and to use
it to create compelling leadership, many CEO's and companies
are turning
to veteran teacher and author, Richard Krevolin. After writing
three books
and spending fifteen years of teaching at the prestigious
USC School of
Cinema/Television, as well as at UCLA, Pepperdine, and Ithaca
college,
Prof. Krevolin has amassed wonderful film clips, anecdotes
and hours of
lectures that apply directly to story construction, leadership
and communication in the business world.
Prof. Krevolin conveys this information in a humorous and
inspiring way
through his private seminars, workshops and lectures. These
presentations
can be specially constructed for the size and needs of any
organization.
Story work does not just apply to those in the business
world who have to write presentations. It also is incredibly
useful in both internal and external Corporate Communications,
for Presentations, Pitches, Sales, Human Resources and all
types of motivation.
In fact, when a bunch of companies are all vying for the
same account, who gets it? It’s the one company who
tells the best story about what they plan to do to sell
more of the client’s product. When a planner writes
a proposal, when is it the most successful? When it’s
written by a planner who communicates an inspiring vision
through a good story. What about the best leaders and managers?
What common traits do they share besides perfect hair and
platinum visa cards? Storytelling skills! Inherent in being
a good leader is being -- a good storyteller. When one is
trying to clarify one’s goals in a new revenue management
system, what type of plan will be the one that best motivates
teams into action? In the end, it is the plan that tells
the most moving, clear, powerful story.
Prof. Richard Krevolin has traveled the globe to teach
both in corporate, business and private settings. A few
of the cities he has taught in this past year include: Bangkok,
Bombay, Sao Paulo, Buenos Aires, Paris, Barcelona, Chicago,
Shanghai, Istanbul and Santa Fe.
Here are a couple of seminar topics that are available.
USING STORY TO SOLVE PROBLEMS & IMPLEMENT CHANGE
--
Whether you want to make your presentations more inspiring,
your corporate communications more exciting, or just pump
up your corporate culture, understanding the rules of story
and utilizing them in the workplace can make a huge difference
in your company's effectiveness. Let Prof. K. teach you
the rules to utilize story properly to effect powerful
change.
THE HERO'S JOURNEY IN THE WORKPLACE --
Prof. K. will use his 15 years of experience teaching the
filmmakers of tomorrow at USC to teach you how to implement
the lessons of the hero of Hollywood films in your business
or organization. This class will make
you both a heroic leader and your organization embody a
sense of mission.
Here is what some of the business leaders who have brought
him in for
workshops have to say about the training sessions he conducts:
" Nobody brings more energy, passion,
depth or insight to a company meeting or training session
than Prof. K. In fact, we loved what he had to say and learned
so much, we had him repeat his lecture all over the world
for the other colleagues."
- Demet Gulec
Global Brand Manager, Unilever, Bangkok, Thailand
"learn the rules to be able to break them...
Professor Krevolin is a
great, entertaining presenter! We were glad to be a part
of his
masterclass!"
- Debu Purkayastha
Creative Director, J. Walter Thompson, Mumbai, India
"It has been our pleasure to work closely
with Richard over the past year. Aside from his obvious
qualifications in the art and skill of scriptwriting, Richard
has proven a very effective and stimulating teacher. His
passion for the subject is contagious and has been invaluable
in overcoming and winning over even the most cynical members
of our team.
I would not hesitate to recommend Richard because he not
only possesses the academic knowledge of his subject but,
most importantly, the passion needed to truly bring it to
life"
- Richard Clegg
Worldwide Director-in-charge, Unilever (haircare)
J. Walter Thompson Worldwide.
Wonderfulgreatsuperfantabulous! We are on such
a high here! We reviewed the scripts on Wednesday night
and laughed delightedly through all of them. They are wonderful
stories, they use the insights cleverly and they are beautifully
crafted. We presented them to our clients yesterday afternoon.
They laughed happily too - right through the presentation.
They are thrilled!
